Summary
Dear Amazing Grace people,
Happy August! It is finally here, and we are in the heat of summer – seems we’ve been way too hot for way too long.
We seek cause for thanksgiving and praise anyway, and look for ways to help others.
You’ve received the announcements from Mary – and in addition there is other news:
The Apostolic church which meets on Sunday afternoons had good news – their mother church in Phoenix found more suitable place for morning worship, and their schedule has adjusted to 1:30 pm at our church. The leaders and pastors meet for prayer at 12:30.
Next Sunday Carla Forgey turns 80 – hard to believe that – and Jerry Price turns 90 – well, both on the 14th. They are hosting their own party after worship – you’re invited!
The flood abatement project begins – and in budget. This week will be staging for the construction – surveying, saw cutting, and burying the internet cable deeper to avoid damage. There will be a 3’ berm across the top of the back parking lot; a watershed ditch from north to Broadway, a trench across the back of the church to direct water toward the west ditch. Work should being around August 14, and take 2 weeks.
Last, not least – our windows are in poor shape, so we are getting bids for new windows. We will have energy efficient double-paned windows – all windows including kitchen and office. Where will we get the money? We have a generous donation offered for a significant part of it, but we also are in the process of finding a buyer for the bells, which should bring in enough money to pay for windows.
Please pray for all to go well, and give great praise for the blessings the Lord has showered upon us!
We are amazed at His goodness, which I think He loves.
In the service – note that the Gospel reading is from John 3, read by Lorraine Hurtik!
Thank you,
His,
Cheri
