Summary
Dear Amazing Grace people,
Today we celebrated communion with joy, and with anticipation of feasting with the Lord one day in heaven. Until then, we as a church will become not only a hunger action congregation, but a church of praying saints. With our prayers throughout each day, inspired by news, conversations, concerns, and reasons to give thanks, we can change the world. I believe that is the mission of Amazing Grace PC. Most of us, our labor has ended and we are in retirement mode. Many of us have health challenges. No problem. We can pray pray pray and bend the ear of God. Today’s. Sermon continues on Jesus and the woman of Samaria, meeting at Jacob’s Well. The. Insights keep coming, the amazement of this book of John continues to awe and inspire.
Labor Day – a day to honor those whose labor, those 8-5’ers, who provide services that keep our towns cleaned up, our people safe, our food prepared, and on and on. Bless those who labor and contribute to the quality of life which we enjoy. May we be a blessing to them in return, and not let them go unnoticed.
A couple of news items: Your Session has placed the order for new windows on Wednesday, before the sales rep left on a long fishing trip. Our hope is that the new windows can be installed before October 8, the Faith and Blue event at our church.
We are expecting a larger crowd, as the word is spreading and more churches are joining in the festivities. More details to be shared as the planning firms up in a couple of weeks.
Not great news: The earth movers on our property damaged our internet cable line so the church is without internet for a few days. Since it is Labor Day weekend, nothing will happen before Tuesday. I am in contact with our engineer who will be in town for tomorrow. We will come up with a plan and execute it asap.
Fortunately, the AC still works, but cannot be controlled from Dan’s iPad. It is on its own program which will continue to run as scheduled. The screens and laptop work without internet, that’s a blessing. The fire alarm system is also independent.
So, here you go! I hope your week is blessed with the joy of knowing the Lord is in control of … everything.
Thank you,
His,
Cheri
