Summary
Dear Amazing Grace people,
The worship at Amazing Grace was great today – heartfelt; I so appreciate our congregation for coming to church in this heat wave. We wish we could wave goodbye to it! At least – no excessive rains – like last year. July 28 was the day of Noah; the flood waters consumed our property.
There is no video this Sunday because Dan Fortune, our Video Man, is still recovering from surgery. We wish you well and a full recovery, Dan.
Last Sunday we had a fun service, walking through the Old Testament. Kathy Hastens replied the next day stating that she had not seen that board for 5000 years – and… she made it! She must have been an amazing Sunday School teacher, and all her students became theologians. I’m sharing the document that was divided up and read, book by book, by the congregation.
We had many notes of praise during Prayers of the People. Thank you for praying as you read through our list of prayers and praise.
The sermon was from John 3:1-10. Susan Fox read select verses about seeking God – all from the Old Testament. We looked at how Jesus discerned the true meaning behind Nicodemus’ question, and found a real treasure in the translation of “born again.”
It was significant to the way we read that chapter, even John’s entire gospel, that I will most likely recap next Sunday for those of you who are not getting the video today.
Many blessings as you peruse the attachments. Thank you for being part of Amazing Grace!
Thank you,
Cheri
