Summary
Happy Blessed Sunday!
Psalm 1 – “Blessed is the Man”, with the three statements describe a contented person. It is repeated differently each time, meaning the same thing, to help us to remember it. Continuing through the Psalm, you see the parallel statements. Let us delight in the law of the Lord.
Mark 9:30-37 – Jesus is trying to let his disciples know about his upcoming death and resurrection. But the disciples were talking among themselves wondering who would be the greatest. “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all,” said Jesus. He uses a child to explain basically that, “whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him, who sent me.” Jesus, we need to go through him to get to the Father.
So be humble, for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction (Psalm 1:6).
